The Time Of Our Lives

It was a cosmic thing

calling us away 

from our treasures,our chains

leaving behind long shadows

we laughed as our dreams

became feathers

we cried 

when the sun dazzled our eyes

more brilliant

than the silver tipping 

from our hands.

Lifting our heads

we walked 

into the evening

of our lives.
