The Virgin Queen

She sauntered into the hive
shaking the snow from her abdomen,
she threw aside her velvet coat
diamond earrings captured in her eyes.
“She is here!”
“She is here!”
a constellation of voices.
“Quiet yourselves, my loves”
she said 
her words the colour of nectar
“I have come to choose fifteen of you,
to be the fathers of my six million children!”

And

of them all
only the most gentlemanly of suitors
would suffice.

Of course.
