Waiting for a revolution as I wait for a drink flicking olives into an ashtray, I think about different ways to overthrow a government. Like how those French revolutionaries chopped the heads off of all the toffs, and didn't think twice about it. The other flies in this bar don't look too revolutionary, with their cigarette jeans and washing machine jackets. Faded years and spilled youth. Slurred speech once was stirring speeches. Every last sip of beer is like a lost opportunity. But it doesn't seem as if much would stir these cows. Too drunk for a revolution that's our problem.

Makes you think about which National characteristics are necessary to take to the streets.I liked the boredom details ...flicking olives into an ashtray whilst contemplation takes hold .
