Hi John. Thanks for the comment. In answer to your points. I was debating the article before cat. Originally it was going to be 'my cat' but that obviously clashes with 'my foot'. I thought 'a cat' sounded too vague, it wasn't just a random cat, so in the end I decided to forgo any article or possessive.
As to the 3 lines or 1 line, I agree a monoku looks better but I felt I was kind of short changing all my subscribers by just sending them a sentence!
I like this one, marc. One thought—articles should not be avoided in haiku—an 'a' is needed before 'cat.'
I know you are a seasoned poet, but perhaps not in haiku, like many.
Also, is this a 3 or 1 line haiku? I prefer it as a monokuu.
